The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) celebrated its 41st Anniversary on July 4, 2026, marking another milestone in its mission to strengthen the Philippines’ position as a premier retirement destination, not only in Asia but across the world.

Following the anniversary celebration, PRA held its Media Thanksgiving on July 7, 2026 at the Diamond Hotel Manila, gathering together media partners and retirees that shared their personal journeys why they chose the Philippines as their second home.

The celebration comes after the Philippines was recognized as the World’s No.1 Retirement Destination in 2026 in the Retirement Abroad Index 2026 by the Expatriate Group, a specialist provider of international health insurance serving expatriates and retirees across more than 180 countries.

This global recognition follows the country’s achievement as the Best Retirement Destination in Asia at the 2025 TripZilla Excellence Awards. What began as a goal to establish the country as Asia’s leading retirement haven has now reached the global stage in a short span of time, affirming the Philippines’ charisma among retirees seeking affordability, ease of living, quality healthcare, and a welcoming community.

At the heart of this milestone achievement is PRA’s continued commitment to enhancing the country’s retirement program through the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV), improved services, and stronger partnerships that allow retirees to enjoy the sweetness of retirement.

For 41 years, PRA has worked to promote the Philippines as not just a place to retire, but a place where retirees can build meaningful relationships, experience Filipino hospitality, and embrace a new chapter in their lives.

This commitment continues through initiatives such as the PRA Onsite Service Caravan, designed to bring essential services closer to retirees and stakeholders. The first two caravans were successfully held at SM Telebastagan on May 19-21 and SM Pampanga on June 23-25, providing convenient access to SRRV-related services, including visa inquiries, application evaluation, ID renewal, membership compliance assistance, and consultations. These initiatives emonstrate PRA’s continued move toward a more responsive and community-centered approach to service delivery.

Adding a new voice to PRA’s journey was the launch of its official jingle, capturing the spirit of the Philippines as a place where retirees can find comfort, belonging, and new opportunities. The jingle reflects PRA’s vision of promoting the country not only as a retirement destination but as a place where lasting memories and meaningful connections are built.

The Philippines’ rise from being Asia’s best to becoming the world’s best retirement destination reflects the continued efforts of PRA and its partners in creating an environment where foreign nationals can live, connect, and enjoy.

As PRA enters another year of service, the Authority remains committed to strengthening the Philippines’ position as the top global retirement hub–where retirement means more than a destination, but a nurturing place to belong.
