SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — A total of 176 uniformed personnel of the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) were promoted during simultaneous oath-taking and rank-pinning ceremonies in Butuan City on July 29.
Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV, Caraga police director, administered the oath and led the donning and pinning of ranks at the PRO 13 grandstand in Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez in Barangay Libertad.
The newly promoted personnel included 49 police corporals, 31 police staff sergeants, 19 police master sergeants, 42 police senior master sergeants and six police executive master sergeants.
Also promoted were six police lieutenants, nine police captains and 14 police majors.
Magistrado said the promotions recognized the personnel’s competence, dedication and service to the police organization but also placed greater responsibilities on them.
“Promotion is not the finish line but the beginning of greater expectations,” he told the promotees.
“I encourage each of you to wear your new rank with purpose. Let your promotion not only elevate your position but also elevate your commitment to ethical leadership and genuine public service,” he added.
Magistrado reminded the newly promoted officers to uphold integrity, discipline and professionalism as they assumed higher positions in the Philippine National Police.
National Police Commission Caraga director Josephmar Gil and Police Regional Appellate Board chair Jennifer Hazel Racaza-Patete attended the ceremony.
They were joined by PRO 13 deputy regional director for administration Brig. Gen. Rommel Rumbaoa, deputy regional director for operations Col. James Goforth, regional staff chief Col. Ruben Delos Santos and other police officials.
Families and relatives of the promoted personnel also witnessed the ceremony.
PRO 13 said the promotions formed part of the PNP’s merit and career advancement system, which recognizes personnel performance and prepares officers for higher leadership and operational responsibilities.
