THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Region 10 led by assistant director Abdullah Linog outlined its accomplishments during the weekly news conference of the Cagayan de Oro Press Club called Meet the Press last July 29 at SM CDO Downtown.

Linog reported that there were already 7,769 certificates of land ownership that were awarded in the region under Republic Act (RA) 11953, otherwise known as the New Agrarian Emancipation Act.

Of the number, 5,002 are located in Bukidnon followed by Lanao del Norte (1,590), Misamis Occidental (894) and Misamis Oriental (283).

All in all, they comprise 8,436 hectares regionwide benefiting some 9,843 persons.

Meanwhile, Linog said DAR also awarded 18,787 e-titles in Northern Mindanao benefiting 19,086 farmers under SPLIT.

SPLIT or Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling is the scheme concocted by DAR to split CLOAs into indidivual titles. It is an intitiative of the World Bank.

Here in Region 10, the bulk of the beneficiaries of SPLIT come again from Bukidnon at 10,023 followed by Misamis Oriental (3,145), Misamis Occidental’s 2,982; Lanao del Norte at 2,397 and the island province of Camiguin with 539.

Linog further said that they distributed 594 farm machineries to these beneficiaries here.

Aside from those, DAR also provided a total of 32 farm to market roads in the region totaling P570 million worth. They are mostly found in landlocked Bukidnon.
