THE construction of the Cagayan de Oro Community Amphitheater annex is on track and in full swing.

This was the update provided by Project Lunhaw head Patrick Gabutina – City Hall’s key overseer of the development – during the Cagayan de Oro Press Club’s weekly Meet the Press episode last July 22 at SM CDO Downtown.

A project executed by the DPWH’s Cagayan de Oro second engineering district, the annex connects the newly refurbished existing amphitheater all the way to Rio de Oro boulevard.

It features a basement parking with 30-vehicle capacity, 20 rentable tenant spaces for small scale businesses, open theater, viewing deck and an overpass to connect the existing structure to the new one.

Another future initiative of Project Lunhaw is the conversion of the old open pit at Dagong, upper Carmen into an ecopark that will feature a skate rink and a recycling facility in bricks technology.

Led by Gabutina, Project Lunhaw under the administration of Mayor Rolando Uy is instrumental in transforming Divisoria into what it is today – a modern breathable space in the heart of downtown Cagayan de Oro.
