SB Finance signed a partnership with the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) with the support of Security Bank Corp. (SBC) through a Memorandum of Agreement signing attended by (from L-R) USJR Finance Bryan Legarte, Treasury Rowena Acosta, President Rev. Fr. Eduardo S. Celiz Jr., OAR., SB Finance President and CEO Abbie Dans-Casanova, SBC Business Manager for Cebu IT Park Branch Rachel W. Pulmano, and SB Finance Product and Sales Team Leader for VisMin Philip Naman III.

SB Finance and the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) have formalized a partnership that will give eligible university employees access to the SB Finance eSALAD Program, a salary-linked loan facility designed to support responsible financial management and improve access to formal credit.

Through the program, qualified USJ-R employees may apply for multi-purpose salary loans ranging from PhP 10,000 to PhP 2 million, subject to SB Finance’s credit evaluation and program guidelines.

“Financial wellness has become an important part of overall employee well-being,” said SB Finance President and CEO Abbie Dans-Casanova. “Employees perform at their best when they have access to responsible financial tools that help them manage life’s planned and unplanned expenses. Through this partnership with USJ-R, we hope to provide employees with a structured and transparent financing option that supports their long-term financial resilience.”

The program offers flexible repayment terms of 6, 12, 18, 24 and 36 months, with competitive interest rates, subject to credit evaluation and approval. Loan proceeds will be credited to the employee-borrower’s preferred bank account via PESONet, while repayment will be made through salary deduction by the university.

As an added benefit, eSALAD loans amounting to PhP 100,000 and below are automatically covered by a Group Credit Life Insurance policy at no additional cost to the borrower. The insurance provides financial protection by helping settle the outstanding loan balance in the event of the borrower’s untimely passing, giving employees and their families greater peace of mind.

The partnership reflects both organizations’ commitment to supporting employee welfare through practical and responsible financial solutions.

Across the Philippines, access to formal financial services continues to improve. However, many working Filipinos still face challenges in managing unexpected expenses and cash flow needs. Employer-linked financing programs such as eSALAD help address this gap by providing access to regulated credit channels tied to employment.

The program is available to eligible regular employees who are at least 21 years old, not more than 65 years old upon loan maturity, have at least one year of employment tenure and earn a minimum gross monthly income of PhP 8,000, subject to applicable requirements and approval.

By offering a structured salary-linked facility, the eSALAD Program helps employees access formal credit for real-life needs such as household expenses, education costs, medical needs, personal projects and other financial obligations. It also supports more manageable repayment through a clear and scheduled payroll deduction arrangement.

“This partnership strengthens our efforts to provide meaningful support to our employees beyond the workplace,” said Rev. Fr. Eduardo S. Celiz, Jr., OAR, President of the University of San Jose-Recoletos. “By giving our employees access to responsible financial solutions, we hope to help them navigate financial challenges more confidently and focus on what they do best which is serving our students and our community.”

Founded in 1947 and administered by the Order of Augustinian Recollects, USJ-R is one of the leading educational institutions in the Visayas, with a strong presence and reputation across the region, including Northern Mindanao. It is recognized for its commitment to academic excellence, community engagement and values-based education. The university serves thousands of students across multiple campuses and academic programs.

“This partnership demonstrates how educational institutions and financial institutions can work together to create practical benefits for employees. When organizations invest in the financial well-being of their people, they help build stronger, more resilient communities,” said SB Finance Head of Corporate Employee Loan Business Jasmin Gaa.

The eSALAD Program forms part of SB Finance’s continuing efforts to expand workplace-based financial solutions across the country. Through partnerships with employers, institutions and organizations, SB Finance aims to make responsible credit more accessible while promoting financial inclusion and financial wellness among Filipino workers.
