JOLO, SULU – The 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division headquarters was filled with enthusiasm this Wednesday as female soldiers and civilian staff assembled for the “Usapang Babae” 2026 Women’s Forum, highlighting the vital role of inclusivity in the unit’s success.

Conducted at the Alakdan Mess Hall on July 15, the gathering provided a venue for the division’s women to refine their leadership skills, contemplate their contributions, and strengthen their commitment to nation-building.

The session’s keynote speaker, Prof. Margaret May A. Ga, shared personal insights and encouraged the attendees to maximize their inherent potential. She urged the participants to lead with the distinct mix of resilience, empathy, and conviction that marks the modern Filipina in service.

The program commenced with opening remarks from Col. Luisita G. Clavecillas II, the Division’s Gender and Development (GAD) Officer. She noted that the assembly was a tribute to the dedication and professional excellence that these women demonstrate in their duties.

The event received strong backing from the division’s leadership, with Division Chief of Staff Col. Ronaldo C. Mateo and G1 Chief Lt. Col. Edmund S. Lanzar in attendance. Their presence served as a testament to the division’s pledge to maintain gender equality as a cornerstone of their organizational culture.

“Empowering our women is more than just a mandate; it is a strategic requirement,” stated Brig. Gen. Ferdinand Rey G. Ga, Assistant Division Commander for Administration and Operations. “An organization that supports and uplifts every individual is inherently more prepared and mission-focused.”

The forum concluded with a shared resolve among the participants to continue championing professional growth and inclusivity. The women of the 11ID departed with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to continue their dedicated service to the people of Sulu and standing as key drivers of peace and progress.
