The pre-trial of the impeachment of Vice President Sarah Duterte is set for the morning of June 18, 2026.
A pre-trial is part of the proceedings for establishing the rules of the impeachment proper.
During the pre-trial, both sides—the prosecution and the impeached public official—are given the opportunity to “agree to disagree” on how to conduct the impeachment proceedings smoothly.
The term “agree to disagree” is a phrase normally applied to opposing parties to settle disagreements in a polite manner.
As stated, there are 37 lawyers joining the legal fracas in the impeachment trial of Sarah Duterte.
The report indicated that 11 lawyers come from the House of Representatives. Initially, 10 private lawyers will also join the prosecution in the impeachment hearing.
Sixteen other lawyers will represent Sarah’s defense counsel, bringing the total number of lawyers to 37.
In her statement, circulated on her various social media outlets, Sarah said she leaves everything to her lawyers to formulate an effective defense strategy.
Anyway, one can pay and hire hundreds of lawyers to buy an acquittal of any charges in court.
However, one hundred lawyers are no match for a single lawyer armed with impeccable truth.
