Gingoog City United Hospital and Maternity Center to break ground this July

NEXT month, the much awaited groundbreaking of the long-needed Gingoog City United Hospital and Maternity Center will occur.


This was the announcement made by Mayor Erick Canosa in an exclusive interview with Mindanao Daily.

Canosa said the to be construced hospital will aim for Level 1 accreditation from the Department of Health (DOH).

“It will be equipped with an emergency room, outpatient department, wards, radiologic laboratory, labor room, a cancer hub for palliative care and more,” he said.

The groundbreaking is timed as Gingoog City will mark its 66th founding anniversary this July 23.

The city was inaugurated in 1960 during the visit of then President Carlos Garcia.

Canosa said the city government has allocated two hectares of land along the national highway for the purpose.

For the land development, the city has already set aside P20 million for the purpose and P40 million more for the initial construction.

It is expected to accommodate 100 beds.
