CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Police seized a cargo truck believed loaded with illegally mined “mineral ore” and mining equipment valued at ₱ 3 million in a checkpoint in Lugait, a coastal town, west of Misamis Oriental Monday (April5,2026).

The driver identified as alias “Ongco,” 28, male, of Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, was also detained for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 7942, also known as the Philippine Mining Act of 1995.

Maj. Joan Navarro, spokesperson of the police regional command in here, said that operatives from the regional and provincial monike forces flagged down the cargo truck, an Isuzu cargo truck loaded with the alleged minersl ore.

“On inspection, the driver failed to show delivery receipt documents, an authority to transport the mineral ore from its origin in Limonda, Misamis Oriental,” Navarro said.

She said that the suspect and seized items, including the Isuzu cargo truck are now in the custody of the municipal police of Lugait pending the filing with violation of the anti-illegal mining law.
