SM City Butuan officially welcomed the holiday season with a grand celebration of joy, generosity, and togetherness during its Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony last October 29, 2025. The mall transformed into a dazzling royal kingdom as it lit up its magnificent 30-foot Royal Tree of Giving, a glowing symbol of compassion and unity.
With the theme “A Royal Christmas,” guests were treated to a magical evening filled with sparkling ornaments, a majestic red ribbon flowing down the tree, and a heartwarming story brought to life through music, dance, and lights. The entire mall radiated the joyful sights and sounds of Christmas, filling everyone’s hearts with smiles and wonder.
The celebration was made even more special with the presence of Vice Mayor Reynante B. Desiata, representing the local government of Butuan, other guests and spectators during the launch. Beyond the visual splendor, A Royal Christmas carried a deeper meaning. It is an invitation for everyone to share in the spirit of giving through the Royal Tree of Giving, which serves as a beautiful reminder that the true essence of Christmas shines not just in the decorations, but in the acts of kindness, compassion, and love shared within the community. Adding to the spirit of generosity, SM Cares has launched the Besties of Joy, a heartfelt continuation of its well-loved gift-giving tradition. For every adorable stuffed bear purchased, another is donated to a child in need, doubling the joy and spreading warmth, friendship, and hope this Christmas.
