Tubod, Lanao del Norte – To harmonize DA and the Provincial Government’s implementation of priority agricultural development projects in the province of Lanao del Norte, management of DA-Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) audienced with Governor Imelda Q. Dimaporo, and representatives Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo and Sittie Aminah Q. Dimaporo for a two-day consultative meeting at the province’s capitol on August 19 and 20.
In said meeting, DA-10’s Operations, Planning and Engineering divisions, led by OIC- Regional Executive Director Milo D. delos Reyes presented to the province’s governor and representatives DA-10’s pipelined and proposed projects in the province for CY 2022 and 2023.
The projects will be funded and implemented under numerous programs of DA-10 namely: Rice, Corn, Livestock, High Value Crops Development, Organic Agriculture, Farm-to-Market Road Development, Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD), and the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa (BP2).
Protocols for the implementation of various DA projects were laid down and agreed upon in said meeting. Issues raised by the province’s governor and representatives were also discussed in the gathering for a follow through resolution.
In a meeting with Lanao del Norte’s provincial and municipal/city agriculturists and veterinarians, Dir. delos Reyes urged the LGUs to back DA’s effort in organizing farm clusters in their respective localities. He said DA and the local governments must work hand-in-hand in optimizing government-funded projects.
“You in the LGU and us in DA, we must work together. With hardwork and persistence and help from the government, we can certainly uplift our farmers,” he said.
In response to the government’s goal in revolutionizing the country’s agriculture, Dir. delos Reyes challenged the local agriculturists to viably plan and sustainably implement agricultural projects in their areas.
As part of his visit to Lanao del Norte, Dir. delos Reyes also turned over 1 unit Farm Tractor and 50 plastic crates, worth Php3.03-M to the town of Tubod. The intervention was received by Mayor Dionisio Y. Cabahug, Jr.
DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations, Carlota S. Madriaga and Regional Technical Director for Research, Regulations and Laboratories, Audy G. Maagad, are among DA-10’s delegation in meeting the agricultural stakeholders in Lanao del Norte.
