FIFTY EIGHT (58) assorted loose firearms were surrendered to military in Maguindanao Del Sur . Lieutenant Colonel Guillermo Mabute Jr. Army’s head of 57th said the 58 assorted unlicensed firearms were turned over by unauthorized persons during our campaign that started from February to April 19, 2024.
Mabute said the loose firearms were voluntary surrrendered by the three villages of Upi ,Maguindanao Del Norte, South UPI, Maguindanao Del Sur and Lebak ,Sultan Kudarat.
Loose firearms surrendered to military 7.62mm SLR Rifle, dalawang 7.62mm M14 Rifle, dalawang Cal.30 Carbine Rifle, isang Cal.30 BAR Rifle, isang 40mm M79, isang RPG, dalawang Cal.45 Pistol, dalawang 5.56mm Fortilite Pistol, isang Ingram-type 9mm, tatlong Uzi-type 9mm Pistol, isang Cal .38 Revolver, dalawampu’t dalawang mga 20-Gauge Shotgun, labinlimang mga 12-Gauge Shotguns, mga magasin at iba’t-ibang uri ng mga bala.
These assorted loose firearms surrendered were presented to the public during the Grand Ugnayan ng mga Barangay na isinagawa sa Gymnasium, South UPI, Maguindanao del Sur, na dinaluhan naman ni Brig. Gen. Michael A. Santos, pinuno ng 603rd Brigade, kasama sina Hon. Ma. Rona Christina P Flores, Mayor ng UPI, Maguindanao del Norte, Hon. Reynalbert O Insular, Mayor ng South UPI, Maguindanao del Sur, at Hon. Frederick F Celestial, Mayor of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat. Kasama ang PNP, mga IPs at iba pang mga stakeholders., Mabute added.
Major General Alex S. Rillera Commander of 6ID/JTFC welcomed this new development initiated by the community because this will minimized lawless elements activities in our province. These loose assorted firearms
will also improve our economic stability . I urge and appeal to the local government units to join force with us and other stakeholders to help us to remain steadfast in carrying out our mission of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for common goals, General Riller added.
These firearms were place under the custody of 57th Infantry Division for proper documentation.
