2,913 people avail of ‘Serbisyong Paglaum’ in Balingasag

MISAMIS ORIENTAL – A total of 2,913 individuals availed of the recent “Serbisyong Paglaum” in Binitinan, an outskirt village of Balingasag, a town east of Misamis Oriental.

Out of the 2,913, 2,748 individuals availed of the essential services that included medical consultations, laboratory tests, deworming, and the distribution of free eyeglasses.

The remaining 165 were deserving youth scholars under the “Iskolar Ko Ng Bayan” (IKNB) program who were also granted a total of P 410,000 to support their education and financial needs.

The “Serbisyong Paglaum” is the fulfillment of Gov. Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia’s campaign promise when he ran as provincial governor in 2022.

“It is always my intention to bring the government closer to the people by delivering essential services to their doorstep,” Unabia said.

Provincial board members Rey Buhisan, Gerardo Sabal, and Dexter Yasay, accompanied by Bebing Dumadag, the Special Assistant to the Governor, were among top capitol officials who joined the recent “Serbisyong Paglaum” in Binitinan.

“Paglaum” is an acronym which stands for: P-participatory governance, A-agriculture development for poverty eradication, G-goal oriented tourism development, L-livelihood and employment through industry development, A-aggressive program for youth welfare and development U- unified efforts for health and social service delivery and M- mobilization of resources through equitable sharing.

The office of the provincial governor regularly renders the “Serbisyong Paglaum” to villages in various towns in Misamis Oriental.
