CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – A communist terrorist was killed after fighting with military troops in Limulan, Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat, past 3:00 this afternoon (July 27, 2023).
According to Lt. Col. John Paul Baldomar, the Commanding Officer of the 37th Infantry (Conqueror) Battalion, his men and the operating troops of the Joint Task Force Central encountered an undetermined number of communist terrorists in the said area.
The battle lasted for 20 minutes until the enemy retreated.
“Fortunately, none of the government troops were hurt but when the operating troops investigated the scene of the encounter, we found the body of a communist terrorist who was blinded and left alone by his colleagues,” said Lt. Col. Baldomar.
Brigadier General Michael Santos, Commander of the 603rd Brigade immediately instructed the units under his command not to give the fleeing terrorists an opportunity to sow more violence. “We will continue our pursuit of the remaining members of the communist terrorist group. In fact, we also got their two M14 rifles, so their war equipment is gradually running out”, said Brig. Gen. saint
Major General Alex S. Rillera, Commander of the 6ID and Joint Task Force Central praised the 37IB and operating units for the successful military operation. At the same time Maj. is still calling. Gen. Rillera to the members of the terrorist communists to turn to the government. “We will give you a chance to change your life with your beloved families, your government is here to help you because no one wins by using force. We know that you were just a victim of the treacherous senior members of the terrorist group who brought your colleague to such a terrible misfortune. We are ready to listen to your grievances”, said Maj. Gen. Rillera.
As a result, the Joint Task Force Central has neutralized 40 communist terrorists since the first month of the current year. Of the said number, 5 were arrested, 11 were killed while 24 returned to the government.
