MAGUINDANAO – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) arrested a former employee of the government, while his husband, a town councilor eluded arrest, during an anti-narcotics operations in Barangay Lower Taviran of Datu Odin Sinsuat town.
PDEA-BARMM Director Rogelio Daculla identified the arrested wife as Raquel Tasil Manibpel, 31, former town employee of Talitay town
According to PDEA-BARMM, the woman has a standing warrant arrest along with her husband, Suwaib Manibpel, for drug-related charges. Her husband was also known as Talitay town Councilor Suwaib Manibpel.
Councilor Suwaib Manibpel may have sensed that PDEA-BARMM was coming to serve their standing warrants of arrest which prompted him to escape when the warrant was about to be served by PDEA.
Daculla told the media the operation was conducted around 1pm by joint operatives of PDEA, the Army’s 6th Infantry Battalion of the 6th Infantry Division, and the National Bureau of Investigation.
The PDEA-BARMM Officer said the couple will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022) at Branch 27, Regional Trial Court RTC 12, Cotabato City.
