Thousands are visiting the War of Our Fathers exhibition at Robinsons Place, Tacloban each day in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Leyte Gulf landing of General Douglas MacArthur during World War ll.
Presented by the Philippine Veterans Bank, the exhibition which runs until October 25, 2019, features several Filipino freedom fighters across the country and, in a capsule, narrates the liberation of the Philippines through hundreds of photographs from war archives, artifacts, diorama, life size figures and war history documentaries on the big screen.
The exhibition was officially opened on October 18, 2019, Friday, by Mr. Renato A. Claravall, president of Philippine Veterans Bank and assisted by Atty. Frederico A. Manalo, Director of Philippine Veterans Bank, Vibeth Gajitos, Branch Group Sales Head First Vice President, and Eden Ruth Lozada Baleton, Regional Operations Manager of Robinsons Malls Leyte, and was accompanied by two surviving veterans, Jose T. Jacla, Region VIII President of Veterans Federation of the Philippines, and Gregoria Badeo, Women Auxiliary Service of Burauen, Leyte.
War of Our Fathers was made possible with the support of the Provincial Government of Leyte, and City Government of Tacloban, with Robinsons Place Tacloban, Summit Hotel Tacloban, Go Hotels and Philippine Veterans Bank.
