CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Philippine Veterans Bank is holding an exhibit dubbed as ‘War of Our Fathers: An exhibit dedicated to the veterans of the World War.
The exhibit at the 2nd level of SM City CDO Uptown started on May 12, 2024 and will end on June 15, 2024 it was learned.
The exhibit is also in commemoration of the 7th Anniversary of the Liberation of Cagayan de Oro.

In an interview with the 74-year-old Jessie Dongallo, daughter of Rosauro Dongallo and the late Major Rosauro P. Dongallo Sr. Commanding Officer, 110th Infantry Regiment, 110th Division District, United States Forces in the Philippines. Dongallo was also former governor of Misamis Oriental, she said his father was a brave US soldier in the Philippines in World War II.
Jessie said the exhibit organized by PVB is “aimed at honoring the WWII US soldiers that dedicated their lives to give us freedom and independence.”
She also just missed her brave father upon seeing the exhibit booths at the mall.
Jessie was proud that her father also became the governor of Misamis Oriental.
Meanwhile, former city mayor Constantino “Tinnex” Jaraula also told Mindanao Daily News that he is planning to put up his own WWII exhibit area at the ground of his mansion in Barangay indahag.
Jaraula also thanked the efforts of Mr Mike Baños and the veteran’s group in collecting as many war veteran memorabilias as he could.
“Dako atong pasalamat kang Mr. Mike Baños sa iyang gipakita nga kadasig sa pagkolekta niining mga memorabilia sa mga beterano sa World War II,” the former mayor said.
The mobile exhibit, focusing exclusively on World War II in the Philippines, will be on display at SM City Cagayan de Oro, featuring panels of photographs and narratives as well as artifacts and memorabilia from WWII scenes from Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental that showcase the bravery and patriotism of the province’s veteran heroes.
The said exhibit is also in partnership with the provincial government of Misamis Oriental, City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office and SM City Cagayan de Oro Uptown.
