Wanted job hunters: DILG-10 needs 2,000 contact tracers

CAGAYAN de Oro City–With the implementation of Bayanihan 2 to Heal as One Act in responding to the adverse effects of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Region 10 needs 2,000 contact tracers.

“Ang pag-allocate sa contact tracers kada rehiyon depende dili lang sa populasyon apil na pud ang kadaghanon sa COVID-19 confirmed cases sa lugar. Ang 2,000 nga i-hire kadungagan sa contact tracers deployed in the five provinces ug two highly urbanized cities,” Regional Director Arnel Agabe said during the NorMin COVID-19 Response Task Force press conference, September 15.

(The allocation of contact tracers per region will not only depend on the population but also on the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the area. The 2,000 workers will serve as an augmentation to the existing contact tracers deployed in the five provinces and two highly urbanized cities in the region)

Agabe reminded contact tracers, who will be hired, that though they are already assigned in a specific area like Bukidnon, they should also be able to accommodate request for assistance from other areas.

He added that close coordination of the hired contact tracers with the local epidemiological surveillance unit of local government units (LGUs) and health offices should be observed at all times.

“Kay ang mga local government units ug city or provincial health offices mas kahibalo sila kung asa ibutang ang contact tracers (Because the local government units and city or provincial health offices have more knowledge on where to assign the contact tracers),” Agabe added.

DILG-10 urges college graduates on allied medical or criminology courses to apply as contact tracers in the region with about P18,784 monthly salary.

Interested applicants may email their letter of intent, personal data sheet, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, and drug test result to the nearest DILG provincial/city office in their area.

Individuals with skills on interviewing, health assessment and public health education are highly encouraged to apply. (RTP/PIA10)
