The place that represents success in town

Uptown is nice. Uptown is great. Uptown is the place to be. Live, work and play in Uptown. This has been the mantra that we have been hearing over the past 10 years especially repeated by the numerous advertorials of the several developers that have contributed to built a whole new city in Uptown Cagayan de Oro.
    
The development of Uptown CdO seems really unstoppable also considering the strong will of the city to develop Lumbia as the new government center. The additional connectivity through the new connection roads from Opol to Laguindingan and the road leading to Talakag and Maramag in Bukidnon is just adding substance to the indisputable fact that Uptown is becoming the place for the people that really count in the city. Most of the rich and famous, of the businessmen and professional elites have relocated to Uptown. If there weren't their old family mansions or palaces somewhere in downtown mostly all of the local families and success drivers of the city would have moved and invested into the Uptown area.
    
In a certain way we could say that moving to Uptown CdO is already the first step towards personal success. Beyond it being a status symbol or an element of pride life is really different here with wide roads, breathable air, tropical vegetation, hills and mountains, recreational facilities, schools, golf and shopping facilities at SM City as well as at numerous other private businesses along Masterson Avenue for example.
    
The announcement of a new Gaisano Mall near Gran Europa underlines the concept and will of being where things happen, where purchasing power is the highest and where you find the people that count and that really have a say in the economic and financial setting of the city. The golf club in fact is another congregator for VIPs and other public and private personalities as well as professionals. The fact that one can experience different lifestyles like luxury condo-living as well as living in a subdivision is already a privilege one cannot find everywhere.
    
Combine this with some of the best schools in town you have found the place to be. You can actually hear young people bragging: “I am from Uptown” giving it a new sense of identity for the Uptown citizen. Businesses, even after this prolonged period of economic crisis are still sprouting and growing naturally in a city which is the economic and financial hub of Northern Mindanao. There has been a great and continuous influx of people from nearby municipalities and provinces looking for work, sending the kids to college or to set up businesses, invest or simply just buying a second home. And in the city of Cagayan de Oro there is nowhere else to be identified as the place where exclusivity and superior lifestyle marries with modern design and distinct dining and shopping facilities. I am aware that there is still some people who prefer the chaotic, polluted and flood prone downtown but for me Uptown is the place to be.
