TESDA-10 launches agri livelihood project in MisOcc

TUDELA, Misamis Occidental, Aug. 12 (PIA)–The Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC), led by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-10, launched the Project HEAL (Hope to Enhance Agricultural Livelihood) and proposed poultry house, August 12, at Sitio Tongo, Barangay Namut, Tudela Covered Court.

“Kani among mga serbisyo gituhog namo para ang among produkto ug serbisyo lami para sa inyo. That is a simple framework para sa atong tanan; nga ang barbeque method tanan matuhog o ma-align pare-pareho,” TESDA-10 Regional Director Tarhata Mapandi said.

(Our services are skewed so all our products and services will be palatable to you. That is a simple framework for all of us; that in the barbeque method, everything will be skewed or aligned based on their relevance)

Mapandi asked for the cooperation and commitment of the IPs and the community to sustain the implementation of the said project. She also urged government agencies to continue on providing appropriate programs and projects to the community.

“Maghinaot ko nga mabuhatan nato ug IP development plan sulod sa barangay, municipal ug provincial levels. Manghinaot ta nga within two months daghan nata ug mga chicken dinhi ug magpatabang ta sa Paglaum nga mahatag sa IP communities ang convergence assistance, interventions, projects, and programs of the government,” Mapandi added.

(We are hoping that we can create an IP development plan for the barangay, municipal and provincial levels. We are hoping that within two months we’ll have more chicken here and we”ll ask for the assistance from Paglaum to provide the convergence assistance, interventions, projects, and programs of the government to the IP communities)

To show support to the community, TESDA-Misamis Occidental provided skills training for raise organic chicken while the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10 turned over 25 training kits.

The Department of Agriculture (DA)-10 gave vegetable seeds to boost agricultural productivity in the area. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) gave school supplies, toys and used clothing for the IP children while LGU Tudela offered registration for weddings.

For their part, the 10th Infantry Battalion and Philippine National Police (PNP) provided hygiene kits and haircut services. PAGLAUM distributed food packs to the participants of the event while the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) provided scholarships and free fish sperm for the fisherfolk. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) offered services on processing birth certificates.

Moreover, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Misamis Occidental handed over certificates of entitlement for livelihood assistance to the beneficiaries of Namut, Tudela; Liboron, Don Victoriano; Penacio, Clarin; and Potongan, Concepcion.

Municipal Leader of Subanen Tribe Gukom Fernando Magante expressed gratitude to the PRLEC for bringing the government to their community.

Gukom said the agricultural and livelihood assistance, and the free training and scholarship will be a great help to the families of the recipients.

Mapandi said PRLEC is not a sole program of TESDA since it is a convergence program of all government agencies where everyone plays a role. PRLEC aims to establish the IPs’ livelihood so they can sustain even without the assistance of the government. (SMRN/PIA MisamisOccidental)
