TANGUB CITY, Misamis Occidental, Sep. 23 (PIA)–To contain the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID)-19, the two purok of barangay Migcanaway in Tangub City has been locked down since September 22.
This, after the 59-year-old fishvendor died who first tested positive in rapid diagnostic test has been taken to Mayor Hilarion A. Ramiro Sr. Medical Center (MHARS-MC) due to complications and shortness of breath.
Tangub City Mayor Jennifer Tan said although they are still waiting for the results of the swab test, they have already done the lockdown of Nuniluna and Natividad where the COVID-19 suspect resides to monitor the areas while doing the contact tracing of those involved with the patient.
The mayor also said the people should not panic as the situation is under control but the following the implemented protocols is needed at this time.
“Akong gi-awhag ang mga lumulupyo nga seryosohon ang pagsulat sa gipanghatag nga contact tracing diary (CTD) aron mahibaw-an nato kung si kinsa ang nakalambigit sa COVID suspect,” she said.

City Health Officer Dr. Janice Biete said there is still no local transmission in Tangub City because the members of the family were negative of the rapid test.
