MISAMIS Oriental–A local government unit (LGU) now supplies food packs to residents on a locked down village here after a resident was diagnosed positive for COVID-19 virus, an official said Wednesday.
Leth Maestrado, the town’s information officer, said that Talisayan, a coastal town east of Misamis Oriental, has locked down the San Jose District 4 village to a 14-day quarantine period starting Tuesday.
She said that the LGU now supplies, food packs to the 25 affected village households, while no one is allowed to enter or leave the place.
Maestrado said that it all started when two LGU officials contracted the dreaded corona virus during a rapid diagnostic test (RDT) two days ago.
However, she said, that during a confirmation swab test on Tuesday, only one of them was found positive for the virus while the other one was negative.
Maestrado said the LGUs health officials led by Dr. Gay Ardanas, the municipal health officer, continue to conduct contract tracing to identify and quarantine those who have direct contacts with the patient.
