SUN LIFE’S FINANCIAL LITERACY JOURNALISM AWARDS
Objectives:
To encourage the media to promote financial literacy among Filipinos
To enable media to be a catalyst of change for a future-ready Philippines
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to Filipino print journalists from both broadsheets and tabloids nationwide.
2. Nominees must possess social responsibility and personal integrity, and must be recognized for
his or her highly professional character.
3. To join, a nominee must submit three to five original and bylined articles that meet the
following requirements:
a. published within November 1, 2018 to October 30, 2019
b. in English or Filipino
c. addresses any of the following:
• promotes financial literacy
• educates about financial products and services
• inspires one’s financial journey
d. in MS Word format, each clearly labeled with the name and date of the publication
4. The deadline of submission is on November 6, 2019. Entries must be emailed to Sun Life Media
Relations Specialist Lalie Novero ([email protected]) with the following details:
1. Full name
2. Name and address of affiliated publication
3. Mobile number
5. Entries will be screened by a panel of external judges based on the following criteria:
• Relevance to the theme of financial literacy – 50%
• Overall impact (accurate, informative, educational, and compelling) – 50%
6. One winner each from Luzon (including NCR), Visayas, and Mindanao will be selected and
awarded P50,000 worth of prizes, including:
• P45,000 in cash
• P5,000 worth of Sun Life Prosperity Fund starter fund
• Trophy
7. Winners will be awarded during the Sun Life year-end media gathering in Manila in December.
