Sultan Abbas resigns as chair of ‘Bangsa Mranao Congress’

ILIGAN City–Sultan Firdausi I. Abbas declared, October 5, that he resigned as Chairman of the Bangsa Maranao Congress on the ground that during his absence the BMC was exploited by some for their selfish interest.

In a statement he issued to the press, he mentioned the reasons why he has
decided to leave the chairmanship of the Bangsa Mrnao Congress.

“They call unauthorized presscons and presented resolutions as approved which are fake resolutions,” he said.

He added that he had not affixed his signature to these alleged resolutions nor were these resolutions passed by the Congress.

“These were their resolutions which they tried to surreptitiously insert during the Congress which I rejected,” he emphasized.

He said that during his absence, they passed these resolutions as approved before unthinking Media persons.

“I withdraw because I do not wish to have my named tarnished,” he asserted.

He also mentioned that these people hardly did anything. Even the tarpaulins were ordered by him in Cagayan de Oro so with the plaques, he lamented.

He said that some friends in Media had to help him arrange the October 1 Congress with Maria Cristina Hotel.

“These are riders. Worse, they betray the trust of those who participated, especially the female youth. Those around are taking advantage of the unexpected popularity of the Bangsa Mranao Congress. I am out,” he concluded.

The persons referred to by Abbas cannot be contacted for comment.
