LANAO DEL NORTE, –Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and other line agencies showed commitment of support to Department of Education (DepEd) during kick off of Brigada Eskwela 2019 ceremony at Camp Bilal, Barangay Tamparan, Munai, Lanao del Norte.
Instead of using guns, bullets, pen and books, representatives of these agencies and groups used their palm as a sign of commitment to support education and providing opportunities to the people of Lanao del Norte.
Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member Abdullah Macapaar former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Commander Bravo spent his time to help young generation to have a pleasant and beautiful school structure for the upcoming school year starting in June 2019 and also to bring good future to our new generations.
With the theme, “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan,” this Brigada Eskwela is the National Schools Maintenance Week that starts from May 20 until May 25, 2019.
Led by Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) Roy Angelo E. Gazo, Brigade Eskwela aims to bring together all education stakeholders to participate and contribute their time, effort and resources to prepare public school facilities to the opening of the school year in the month of June.
Along with this kick off is the Launching of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Center in order to provide a practical option to the existing formal instruction.
ALS includes both non-formal and informal sources of knowledge and skills for the people of Munai town.
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Bruce Augusto Colao together with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in person of Col Alex T Aduca the Deputy Brigade Commander of 2nd Mechanized Brigade and LtCol Bernardo Taqueban of 4th Mechanized Battalion including Philippine National Police (PNP) Team, Department of Education family and other stakeholders hand-in-hand to beautify the schools structures, painted school buildings, made blackboards and chairs and planted plants.
