South Cotabato farmers’ organizations receive organic fertilizer

Two (2) agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in South Cotabato received 250 sacks each of organic fertilizer from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to improve their vegetable production.

The organic fertilizer with a total amount of ₱250,000.00, was provided to Puti Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (PARBA) from Barangay Puti, Norala and Saravia Tri-People Vegetable Farmers Association of Barangay Saravia, Koronadal City.

In her message, Evangeline Bueno, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II,

said the organic fertilizer was provided to the ARBOs to reduce their production expenses and help rejuvenate soil conditions in the area.

“With this assistance, the farmers are expected to produce healthy and chemical-free vegetables and increase their income as well,” Bueno said.

Bueno encouraged the recipients to use properly the organic fertilizer given to them as it will provide the best nutrients to their lands for them to produce healthier crops.

She said that the project is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s objective to improve the farmers’ livelihood nationwide and reminded them that the DAR through Secretary Conrado Estrella III would continue to monitor other support programs and projects to ensure the attainment of this objective.
