CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Deputy House Speaker and Cagayan de Oro City Rep. Rufus Rodriguez recommended with the Commissions on Higher Education Department (CHED) 1,085 incoming freshmen scholars for the School Year 2021-2022 here.
Rodriguez said that the incoming freshmen scholars in privare schools were entitled to a P40,000 financial assistance under the Universal Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST).
Those accepted in public tertiary educational institutions like the University of Science and Technology of the Philippines in Cagayan de Oro City were already free from tuition and fees.
The CHED and Unifast were now evaluating the recommended 1,085 applicants/enrollees in private colleges and universities for scholarships, Rodriguez said.
He said the CHED and Unifast will soon announce the accepted applicants to the scholarship under the government’s “Tulong sa Dunong”program. -0-
