CAMP SIONGCO, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao del Norte – The well-being of their families and being able to live in peace in their respective areas is the reason for six victims of terrorist ideology and circumstances to turn to the government this Tuesday afternoon (May 2 , 2023) in Maguindanao del Norte.
Lieutenant Colonel Rommel Agpaoa, Commanding Officer of the 92nd Infantry (Tanglaw Diwa) Battalion, confirmed that five of them are members of the BIFF-Karialan Faction and one is a member of the DI-Turaife Group.
Present the former extremist groups to Brigadier General Leodivic Guinid, Commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team who was also witnessed by the Maguindanao del Norte Police Provincial Office; Mr. Joniel Gedoria, Peace Program Officer IV of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety, BARMM; representatives of the Municipal Mayors of Midsayap and Pigcawayan in North Cotabato; Hon. Nasrodin Haron of Brgy. Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte; Datu Pia Tukuran and Datu Rhenz Tukuran of Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur.
“They carried with them their weapons of war which included three (3) 7.62mm Sniper Rifles, one (1) Garand Rifle, one (1) Grenade Launcher and one (1) Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) during the conversion. . They received initial help from the BARMM Government”, according to Lt. Col. Agpaoa.
Praised by Brig. Gen. The efforts made by the soldiers of 92IB were appreciated to help them realize their desire to change their lives.
