Cagayan de Oro-As the campaign period reaches its endgame, key local officials guaranteed that Northern Mindanao would vote for Vice President Leni Robredo in the 2022 National Elections.
“Any candidate can present a rosy picture of the future. But only (Vice-President) Leni has plans which are rooted in the ground,” said Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Rufus Rodriguez in a local media interview Wednesday afternoon.
“With her concrete plans, credibility and genuine concern for the laylayan, Northern Mindanao will fully blossom under a Robredo presidency. That’s why she will win here,” Rodriguez added.
Rodriguez made the remarks after a private meeting with the Vice-President in Cagayan de Oro City. They were joined by members of the Centrist Democratic Party (CDP).
The group discussed two projects which are essential to the future of Mindanao- the Mindanao Railway Project (MRP) and the rehabilitation of the Agus-Pulangi Hydropower Complex.
“Her commitment to construct the railway- particularly the Bukidnon-CDO-Iligan City route- will put Mindanao on the right track,” said Rodriguez, “and the lower electriticity cost from the rehabilitated Agus-Pulangi will energize our region.”
“She has our full support, it’s full-steam ahead for the Robredo campaign,” said CDP National President, Cong. Rufus Rodriguez
