CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, of Cagayan de Oro’s second district, leads the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the P95 million flood control project along the Cagayan de Oro River in Barangay Macasandig here.
Rodriguez said that the project aims to mitigate the impact of rising water levels in the Cagayan de Oro River and prevent soil erosion along its banks.
“The implementation of the 160-meter dike will ensure the protection of communities surrounding the Cagayan de Oro River from potential floods and the risks and damages it might bring to families and their properties,” he said.
“Infrastructure development for the city, particularly flood control measures, remains a priority in the allocation of funds under the public works to strengthen existing mechanisms for disaster prevention and preparedness,” he added.
Rodriguez underscored his commitment to securing more funds for DPWH-10 for more infrastructure development project that will contribute to the creation of a “safer, more secure environment” for residents of Cagayan de Oro City. -0-
