CAGAYAN de Oro City–The Rural Transit Mindanao, Inc. (RTMI) on May 7 formally launched its new route (Cagayan de oro-Cotabato City) aid the pandemic brougth about by Corona Virus Disease.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Regrional Director Allan Guro said the RTMI has deployed 15 new air-conditioned and non-aircon buses initially to serve Cagayan de Oro-Cotabato City passengers.
Guro said the fare rate for the 5-6 hours of travel time is Php541.00 excluding the privileged fare given to students, senior citisens, and Persons with disabilities (PWDs).
He said the RTMI is also required to strictly follow the “seven commandments” for public transportation such as wearing of face masks, face whield, frequent disinfection, social distancing, and taking of body temperature, among others.
On one hand, RTMI-Bulua Branch Manager John del Castillo said local chief executives thanked RTMI for opening the new route.
Castillo said that aside from Cagayan de Oro, the travel toward Cotabato City will pass thrigh Talakag in Bukidnon, Wao, Banisilan, Alamada, Libungan, Pigcawayan, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato City.
“Initially, we have 15 new air-conditioned and non-airconditioned units and as demands would require, we may add additional units to serve the passegers better,” said del Cstillo.
