Rotary Club of Kalayaan CDO Shines Bright at “End Polio Goes Broadway” Event

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Rotary Club of Kalayaan CDO, led by President Aisa Bruneiry M. Alonto, recently hosted a spectacular fundraising event, “End Polio Goes Broadway,” at the Capitol University, Corrales Avenue, this city.

The event, which brought together Rotary leaders, members, and guests, aimed to raise funds to support the global effort to eradicate polio. District Governor Marlowe Selecious, Past District Governor Gigi Go, and other Rotary dignitaries graced the occasion.

In his message, DG Marlowe Selecious emphasized the importance of the Rotary’s mission to end polio, highlighting the progress made so far – 99.9% of polio has vanished, but the virus still hides in the hardest places.

Cagayan de Oro City Councilor and Rotary International District 3870 Past District Governor Gigi Go joined the celebration, reaffirming her commitment to the cause. “This is our finale. Until the last child is safe, the curtain must not fall. Our Mission continues. Our Story is not yet done,” she said.

The event featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including PP Alvin Quinon, Katrina Mordeno, PP Lennie Medalla, Kai Medalla, and PP Richard Opada, who entertained the audience with Broadway-style performances.

The Rotary Club of Kalayaan CDO has been at the forefront of polio eradication efforts in the region, and this event was a testament to their dedication and commitment.

The “End Polio Goes Broadway” event was a resounding success, with attendees showing their support for the noble cause. The proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Rotary’s global polio eradication efforts.

Rotary International has been working tirelessly to eradicate polio worldwide, and events like this bring hope to communities affected by the disease.
