MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)–As part of its commitment to support and promote a synergized partnership with the community, the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) launched Monday, September 26, the revitalized Kapulisan, Simbahan at Pamayanan (KASIMBAYANAN) attended by the religious sector and various community members here.
The event highlighted the collaboration of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the general public through the intervention and help of the religious sector and the entire society to attain a holistic transformation in the service of protecting society.
Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Director PCol. Jibin Bongcayao expounded that this initiative was labeled as revitalized as this only renewed the existing program previously pursued by the PNP to achieve its prime goal of securing peace, order and development through tapping partners and stakeholders in the society.
“Ang peace and order, security and development ay hindi kaya ng ating kapulisan na ipatupad at ipalaganap [Our policemen alone cannot enforce and spread peace and order, security and development] without the help of the community and stakeholders,” he said.
Bongacayao further stressed the need to push for this reinvigoration taking into account the population ratio of police force and the citizenry in Lanao del Sur province whereby it was logged that one policeman has to safeguard at least 700 individuals in its area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the religious sector delivered its support as they see this endeavor truly fostering peace, order and prosperity in the province.
Prelature of St. Mary in Marawi Msgr. Rev. Fr. Ramonito Torres conveyed that the KASIMBAYANAN is a manifestation of the will of the Almighty which is to make His people unified to maintain peace in this world.
“This is indeed a reciprocation to God’s love for us by working together as partners towards the goal of a holistic transformation that involves the PNP and the community it serves and protects for public safety and God-centered society with a long-lasting peace and development in our country,” he said.
Mindanao State University (MSU) – Main Campus King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies (KFCIAAS) Faculty Aleem Ihsan Manaol further assured that they would back security initiatives of the PNP, deeming this within the bounds of their Islamic faith.
“Ang simbahan ay kaagapay, katuwang at katulong niyo sa pagpapalaganap ng kapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran,” added.
