RCWESTCDO Turns-over Tablets to Senior High School Students

On April 15, 2021, the Rotary Club of West Cagayan de Oro joined the Alrose Foundation, Inc. and Rotary Club of CDO Centerpoint  turned over computer tablets to 13 selected senior high school students from 3 secondary schools in Cagayan de Oro City.  This gadget is an additional learning resource for the students undergoing Modular Distance Learning modality during the COVID 19 pandemic.

The student/recipients are beneficiaries of the “Uplifting the Life of the Poor thru Education at All Times” or UPLIFT scholarship project jointly implemented by the Alrose Foundation, Inc., RC West CDO and the RC of CDO Centerpoint. 3 of the recipients are from the Angeles Sisters National High School, 4 from the Kauswagan National High School and 6 from the Cagayan de Oro National High School.

Financial grant from the Rotary International District 3870 in the amount of US 1,000 dollars, as well as from some generous members of RC West CDO, funded this undertaking.

Present during the turn-over were Pres. Hipolito Balandra of the RC West CDO, Past District Governor Aldrico Mañus, Chairman, Alrose Foundation, Inc. and Pres. Zarah Rotoras of RC of CDO Centerpoint. Assistant Principals Mary Flor Babia and Carmelita Jaranilla from the Cagayan de Oro National High School and Assistant Principal Aileen Maghuyop and Senior High School Coordinator Bartolome Grejalde Jr. from the Kauswagan National High School represented their respective schools during the occasion. Several members of the RC West CDO also joined this event.

PDG Al Mañus, Pres. Pol Balandra and Pres. Zarah Rotoras challenged the recipients to take good care of this gadget and to use it according to its purpose because it is an important tool to help them finish their studies despite the pandemic.
