RCIMC, 55th EBde turn over comfort rooms in Dulag ES

ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–The Rotary Club of Maria Cristina (RCIMC) in partnership with the 55th Engineering Brigade (EBde) of the Philippine Army turned over the newly-constructed two comfort rooms in Dulag Elementary School of this city.

RCIMC implemented the said support through its Project Kahinyas benefiting 216 pupils in the said school.

Shine Barga, RCIMC president, said that one of the areas of focus of the Rotary is water and sanitation disease prevention and treatment, and peace conflict and resolution. She also hoped that their project will help change the lives of the pupils.

“We hope sa pag-anhi namo, nakaserve mi sa tao dinhi, sa mga estudyante dinhi ug machange for the betterment ang lives diri,” she said. 

[We hope our arrival has served the people and the students here and change for the betterment of the lives here.] 

The 554 Engineer Battalion of the 55th EBde spearheaded the construction of the comfort room with handwashing facilities which started in Nov. 2021. 

A community outreach program was also held wherein multivitamins, hygiene kits, slippers, face masks, relief goods were provided to the pupils. Seeds of marang and langka were also thrown in the vicinity of the school through a seed bombing. 

Other partners for the said event include Iligan City Police Office, JCI Kulintang, Acelo Badelles Sr. Memorial High School, among others. (LELA/ PIA Iligan City)
