RC CDO holds 2019 induction of officers

THE Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro held its 72nd induction of officers last Monday at Mallberry Business Suites in Cagayan de Oro City.

The new set of officers for RY 2019-20 which will begin their term this July is now being led by president Julino Dulfo, who took over from outgoing president Danilo Empedrad after a very colorful and successful term last year marked with various achievements.

The inducting officer was no less than Rotary International District 3870 Governor Bansawan Ibrahim.

In his acceptance speech, Dulfo recognized Empedrad’s various achievements and vowed to do his best to steer Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro into another fruitful year.

“I thank IPP Danny and I will be depending on his support throughout the year,” he said.

With 68 active members, Dulfo envisions for more membership development this year.

His first “baptism of fire” so to speak will be the district-wide Rotary Foundation seminar this August 17 at Grand Caprice Restaurant, this city.

An expected 300 participants from 46 clubs throughout the district are expected to grace the activity.

This July alone when Dulfo started his term, the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro had already salvoed three projects.

During the first week of this month, a total of 370 first graders in two public schools in barangay Indahag received a bag each containing pencils, erasers and sharpeners.

Also this month, the club initiated a Shielded Metal Arch Welding class leading to NC II certifucation to residents of barangay Mambatangan in nearby Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

Then on July 10, 450 senior high students of Gusa Regional Science High School were the attendees of an HIV/AIDS-teenage pregnancy forum.

“This is what we will achieve together through the program that we outline,” Dulfo said.
