BACOLOD,Lanao del Norte – A female radio broadcaster of an FM station based in Bacolod town, this province, was hacked to death the other day, the police reported.
The responding policemen identified the victim as a certain Audrey Gaid Estrada, 59, widow, and a resident of Bacolod town, this province.
According to the initial police investigation the victim was attacked by a still unknown suspect inside his residence in barangay Poblacion, Bacolod town. Estrada was reportedly a hard-hitting commentator of Radio 101.3 Grace Covenant FM.
Lt Col. Salman Saad told the media that their office received a call regarding the hacking incident that took the life of the female broadcaster of said FM station.
He said responding police operatives immediately responded and saw the lifeless body of the radio station broadcaster on the second floor.
She was immediately brought to a nearby hospital but attending physician and nurses pronounced her dead upon arrival.
In an interview with the media, it was learned that the victim has been handling a regular daily public affairs program both morning and afternoon, but commented she only reports based on facts and was not really a hard-hitting broadcaster.
The PNP Chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos has already condemned the barbaric act of the suspect and ordered him arrested as soon as possible to give justice to the bereaved family.
