A 3-pronged economic recovery strategy is proposed to generate more jobs, livelihoods and business opportunities across the nation. The highlights of the comprehensive economic recovery program is aimed at addressing unemployment, hunger and poverty towards sustainable development and equitable progress as presented herewith;
- New Omnibus Investment Code to improve the way we do business, enhance the competitive advantage of the Philippines as an investment destination, manufacturing base, processing and service location in the Asia Pacific region. The primary objective is to enhance domestic productivity and attract more foreign direct investments.
- Bankruptcy Law to enable business enterprises, entrepreneurs, farmers and professionals to reorganize, operate and recover from their losses caused by unforeseeable events i.e. pandemic, within a supervised financially-viable legal framework. Localized version of US bankruptcy law chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 could be adopted.
- Access to low interest loans for Micro Small and Medium Enterprises ( MSME ), agri-fishery and consumer sectors, coursed thru the banking system with institutional guarantees to rationalize lending risks. Bank sourced operating funds at low interest rates and easy terms will enable business enterprises to reopen and operate, generate productivity and employment, and eventually contribute to government tax revenues.
