Joint elements of the police and the army raided a shabu laboratory at a high-end subdivision in Ayala-alabang Friday and seized a total of P136-million illegal drugs known as shabu.
The raiding team led by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested a 41-year-old French national suspected as the chemist of the shabu lab and a Filipino businessman.
PDEA Officer-In-Charge Gregorio Pimentel told the media the two arrested suspects allegedly have connections with the Australian, Canadian and Mexican drug trafficking groups.
“These suspects are linked to Mexican, Australian and Canadian drug trafficking groups. We are currently investigating these links and several other drug personalities,” Gregorio said.
Meanwhile, PDEA’s massive raid also resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Canadian and seized two kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P13-million.
Meanwhile, Colonel Redrico Maranan, the PNP spokesperson, said during a public briefing that they are currently in close coordination with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) which could give them more details about the operation of the international drug syndicate operating in many parts of the world.
“After the implementation of search warrants, ‘yong mga verification, further investigation, at malalim na paghalukay sa detalye, ‘yan po ‘yong magiging parte ng post-investigation,” Maranan told the media.
