ILIGAN CITY (Radio Announcer Murder) — Police in Lanao del Norte have identified person of interest in the killing of a female radio announcer in Bacolod town.

PLTCOL Salman Saad, public information officer of Lanao del Norte police, said the footage of a CCTV camera in a nearby establishment is a big help in the development of the case.

Saad said the family of the victim had also turned over the cellular phone of the victim for PNP Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10 for examination.

The victim, Audrey Gaid Estrada, 59, radio commentator of a community radio in Bacolod was found dead on March 17 early morning with stab wounds all over her body. She was declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital.

PMAJ Mohammad Doro, chief of Bacolod police, said a gadget was also submitted to the PNP Anti-Cybercrime for examination.

Doro did not specify what kind of gadget they submitted for security reason.

“Sa pagka-karon, wala pa naka-file og kaso kay maghulat pa ta sa resulta sa enhancement sa footage sa CCTV kay para ma confirm ang atoang person of interest. Atoang i-collaborate sa statement sa witness ang result. Isa pa lang atoang na-identify,” Doro said in an interview.
