Lanao PNP provincial director gives cash assistance to 3 personnel killed in Adiong ambush

Lanao del Sur Philippine National Police provincial director Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan extended financial assistance to the families of the three (3) personnel who were killed in an ambush along the boundary of Maguing and Amai Manabilang towns on Friday afternoon, February 17, police authorities said.

As reported earlier, Governor Mamintal Adiong, Jr and one of his staff were hurt in the ambuish.

On February 19, 2023 at around 12:00 PM, Daculan immediately paid a visit to the family of the late PCpl Aga Sumandar, son of (late MSU Budget Analysist Sultan Rex Sumandar) and expressed his sympathy and condolences to untimely death of one of the three policemen killed in the ambush.

Daculan also paid a visit to the bereaved families of late PCpl Jalil Cosain at Ditsa-an Ramain, at 11:00 PM of February 19, 2023, and also extended financial assistance to the families.

From there, Daculan proceeded to the family of PSSG Mohammad Juraij M. Adiong a resident of Tamparan, Lanao del sur, which is only approximately 10 or more less kilometers away in town of Maguing.

SPECIAL COMPOSITE TASK FORCE

AUTHORITIES have formed a special task force to fast track the conduct of investigation of the ambush of governor Adiong and his aides

The task force dubbed as Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) is headed by Police Colonel James E. Gulmatico of DRDO, PRO BAR and members of the Provincial SITG led by Police Colonel Robert S. Daculan who is the Philippine National Police provincial director of Lanao del Sur.

The task force is composed of Armed Forces of the Philippines (ARMY), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)

According to Daculan in their meeting conducted recently at the PPO Conference Room at Camp Bagong Amai Pakpak, Marawi City, they have gathered sufficient evidence like the taking of affidavits of complaint of the widows of the personnel killed in action, and affidavits of witnesses for consolidation of all pieces of evidence recovered – in support to the filing of criminal complaint against the perpetrators.

The case will be filed at the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Lanao del Sur.

LEAGUE OF PROVINCIAL GOVERNORS OF THE PHILIPPINES CONDEMNS SLAY ATTEMPT GOV ADIONG

In a Press Release statement furnished to the Manila Times by the Governors League of the Philippines through the Provincial Information Office of Lanao del Sur also condemned Lanao del Sur Governor Adiong’s slay attempt.

The League of Provinces of the Philippines represented by the 81 country’s governors strongly condemned the ambush.

It was learned that the league unanimously approved a resolution during its 3rd General Assembly on their Conference Hall on February 18, calling out the ambush as a “disservice” not only to the people of Lanao del sur, but the entire nation.

His colleagues wished governor Adiong and those who were hurt fast recovery and expressed condolences to the families of four fatalities.

On the other hand, they emphasized that the violence committed against the safety of all provincial governors, the resolution stated.

MAYOR FAHAD D. MOLOK OF MAGUING CONDEMNS AMBUSH OF GOV ADIONG

The municipal mayor of Maguing, Fahad D. Molok also issued a official statement condemning the attack.

He said the municipality of Maguing, in its entirely strongly condemns the attack, in pursuit of credible information and justice for our people and victims, we request the assistance and collaboration of all parties, including leadership, civilians and law enforcement agencies.

“We urge the national government to convince peace mechanisms, immediately to assist in the investigation and ultimately the arrest of the suspects.
