PNP LDN reports drop in index crimes for 2021

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA)–The volume of index crimes here in the province in 2021 has decreased, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

This was reported by PNP Lanao del Norte operation officer PLtCol. Rodolfo Dongiapon during the Joint Provincial Development Council, Provincial Peace and Order Council, and Provincial Anti Abuse Council meeting, February 2.

He said the index crime decreased from 191 in 2020 to 178 in 2021.

This covers eight crimes: murder, homicide, rape, robbery, physical injury, theft, carnapping for motor vehicles, and carnapping for motorcycles.

Cases of physical injuries posted the biggest drop of 48.15 percent from 54 to 28 cases.

Rape cases also posted a significant decrease of 25 percent from 52 to 39.

Meanwhile, the number of non-index crimes declined by 39.19 percent, from 222 to 135.

PNP stressed that it continues to coordinate with the concerned barangay officials to intensify measures to prevent crime incidents in their respective areas of responsibility. (LELA/ Lanao del Norte)
