Impasugong, Bukidnon- In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture headed by Ms Candelaria T Donasco, Technician, the 8 th Infantry Battalion through People’s Organization Sustainment Team (POST) facilitated the distribution of farm inputs to the Pigbuligaan Farmers Association at Sitio Rishrael, Brgy Hagpa, Impasugong, Bukidnon on October 7, 2022 (Friday).
The Department of Agriculture turned-over a total of two (2) weaving machines, four (4) manual ploughing machines and 500 sacks of organic fertilizers which will be benefitted by 40 members of the organization.
The said agency strongly supports the advocacy of the organization to establish an income generating projects that will surely suffice their daily needs for living. This project will help boost their economic status as this will help reduce poverty in the community.
The Pigbuligaan Farmers Association is an independent and open organization that was organized and founded by the 8 th Infantry Battalion on March 14, 2021 through the efforts of the Community Sustainment Team (CSP) during immersion in the area of Bukidnon by operationalizing the reverse organizing team led by former white area organizers (Former Rebels). The association is not only limited to Former Rebels (FRs), sympathizers/supporters, yet there is an inclusion of indigenous peoples and marginalized sectors that are now bonded together and sheltered by this unit from being slaved and hypnotized of alien ideology that CTG has brought.
Mr. Yano Yano Domino, president of the Association said “kami nagapasalamat sa atung kasundaluhan ug sa Department of Agriculture sa pagtabang kanamu kanunay, daku kining tabang alang sa among pang adlaw-adlaw nga panginabuhi ug kani mamahimong sinugdanan sa pag awhas sa among kalisud.” (We are grateful to our soldiers and to the Department of Agriculture for the support imparted to us, this is a great help to support our daily living and poverty reduction.”
With the convergence effort of the different counterpart agencies, the 8IB will continuously support our government’s advocacy in promoting livelihood programs for the People’s Organization.
