PDEA-Caraga nabs high-valued drug suspect

CARAGA REGION – Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the region arrested a high valued drug operator Thursday at a bus terminal in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur. PDEA-13 infortmation officer Dindo Abellanosa told reporters the suspect was identified as Armac Suma, alias Madam Muslim, a resident of Barangay Taglatawan in Bayugan City. Abellanosa said: “The suspect is an HVI and engaged in selling of shabu in Bayugan City and other parts in Agusan del Sur. She is under surveillance by a team PDEA-13 with the support of the personnel from Agusan del Sur Provincial Police Office and Bayugan City Police Station.” The raiding team of PDEA agents seized from the suspect five transparent plastic sachets of the illegal drug suspected as “shabu,” weighing grams. Abellanosa told reporters the confiscated drug items have a total market value of P350,000. The PDEA operatives also confiscated the marked money worth P1,000.00 that would be used in the alleged drug transaction which turned out to be the buy-bust operation, the PDEA spokesperson said. “The arrested suspect will be charged with the violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” Abellanosa reported. – The arrested drug suspect is now languishing at the PDEA mini cell in Bayugan City, awaiting charges for the appropriate filing of charges. – PNA
