Pantawid graduates grab top tech-voc award

Sto Tomas, Davao Del Norte (DSWD XI) -Three new Pantawid Pamilya graduates of Food and Beverages Services NC II bagged the top prize in the Flower Arrangement Skills Competition during the Job and Business Fair 2017 held on August 10 here.

Kristine Mae Deinla, Airies Diane Canada and Imee Rose Grande graduated last July at the Davao Winchester College, Inc. through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

“Walay kabutngan akong kalipay nga midaog ang among mga bag-o rang ni-gradweyt nga mga partisipante sa Skills Training sa SLP (I can’t contain my happiness that our recent graduates of the SLP training won),” Edgar M. Burgos, Project Development Officer of Sto. Tomas, said after the event.

Director of DSWD Mercedita P. Jabagat lauded the three graduates, saying, “They are an inspiration to both their fellow graduates and to other Pantawid beneficiaries who are also aspiring to acquire technical-vocational skills through our livelihood program.”

The Sustainable Livelihood Program is a community-based capacity building effort that seeks to improve the beneficiaries’ socio-economic status through Micro-Enterprise Development and Employment Facilitation. (DSWD)
