A CASE OF HACKING IN JASAAN TOWN
JASAAN, Misamis Oriental – A father accidentally killed his own son yesterday evening in Barangay San Isidro, Jasaan town, this province, police authorities reported.
Police investigators at Jasaan Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Enerio Hallazgo, Jr, 62, and resident of Sitio Tampod, Barangay San Isidro, Jasaan own, while the victim, who happened to be his own son was a certain Marjun Hallazgo, also of the same barangay.
The victim died a few hours later at the hospital due to the fatal hacking that he sustained.
Police Major Marstar Lorenzo, chief of Jasaan Municipal Police Station, in an interview with Magnum Radio said that based on their initial investigation, the suspect and his son were having a drinking spree with some friends when suddenly the suspect and his son figured into a heated argument.
It was not clear, however, at this time the main discussion they had started that resulted in a heated argument that also later ended into the killing of the father of his own son.
Investigation also disclosed that after a heated argument the son disappeared from the crime scene. But a few minutes later he came back bringing with him a jungle knife and he hit his father, wounding his leg.
The father, investigation continued, reportedly retaliated and also hacked his son to the fatal points which resulted in his son’s untimely demise.
Major Lorenzo said a case of Parricide is now filed in court against the father. If found guilty, the father will suffer from a life imprisonment that will be meted against him.
