CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–A total of P816,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, was seized by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU)-10 and its partner units during the conduct of joint buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of two personalities at Old Road, Purok 7, Barangay Gusa, here, June 4.
The police identified the suspect as Isidro Dela Peña, 41, a resident of Pinikitan, Camaman-an, and listed on the Directorate for Intelligence (DI) watchlist; and Jemar Leopardas, 36 years old, a resident of Old Road, Purok 7.
Confiscated in their possession were six different sizes of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing more or less 120 grams with an estimated standard drug price of P816,000.00.
Said suspects are detained at Police Station 3, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office for proper documentation and disposition.
Police Regional Office (PRO)-10 Regional Director Benjamin Accorda Jr. commended the units involved for their successful buy-bust operation and assured the public that the region stands firm in its fight against illegal drugs and criminality for a peaceful northern Mindanao.
“Our police are nonstop in eliminating the drug menace in this region as our campaign on anti-illegal drug operations continue. Sisiguraduhin natin na hindi magsu-sustain ang kanilang mga iligal na gawain (We will make sure that illegal activities are not sustained here),” he said. (PRO-10/PIA-10)
