P61-M ‘shabu’ burned in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The government burned a total of P61-Million worth of illegal drugs known as ‘shabu,’ according to PDEA regional office 10 here.

PDEA-10 said the P61-Million worth of illegal drugs were burned at a mortuary in Cagayan de Oro City.

Benjamin Recites, assistant director of PDEA-10 based in this city, revealed that most of the incinerated drugs were confiscated in Ozamiz City.

Among those burned were the illegal drugs seized by PDEA operatives from Gaudencio and Melodina Malingin,  all residents of Ozamiz City.

Based on the revelation of the military official, Melodina is the sister of the late Reynaldo Parojinog who was killed in 2017 during a police raid. Reynaldo Parojinog was the mayor of Ozamiz in 2017 and he was killed along with his family members and bodyguards during an encounter with the raiding team of the government.

According to reports, Melodina and her husband were arrested in 2017. In September 2020, Melodina died of heart failure. After two days of her death, her brother Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog reportedly  committed suicide inside a detention facility in Ozamiz. – PNA
