In a significant development in the case involving Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy’s co-accused, Philippine authorities credited the success of an arrest to a P1 million bounty offer. Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. disclosed that Pauline Canada, one of the five individuals implicated alongside Quiboloy, was apprehended in Davao City following a tip-off received on July 9.
Abalos detailed that an anonymous caller alerted the Davao City police, specifically the Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division of Region 11, after spotting a woman resembling the individual depicted in a wanted poster circulated by the Philippine National Police (PNP). The caller’s information proved crucial in locating and detaining Canada.
“Maski papaano ay nakatulong ang reward dito,” Abalos remarked, emphasizing the effectiveness of the P1 million reward in facilitating the arrest.
Pauline Canada was subsequently presented to the public during a press conference hosted by the PNP, marking progress in the legal proceedings tied to the allegations against Quiboloy and his associates. The case has drawn widespread attention amid ongoing scrutiny of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ church and its leadership.
The arrest underscores ongoing efforts by Philippine authorities to pursue justice in high-profile cases, leveraging public cooperation through incentives like monetary rewards. As the investigation continues, authorities remain focused on ensuring accountability and addressing the allegations leveled against Quiboloy and his co-accused. ###
