Oro gov’t intensifies monitoring in malls, other businesses

WITH THE opening again of malls and businesses in the city, the City Government of Cagayan de Oro has also intensified its monitoring to ensure that public health protocols are strictly followed by mall operators and other businesses.

As this developed, the members of Incident Management Team (IMT) of the City Government conducted surprise visits in malls and similar establishments since Wednesday to check on the continued enforcement of social distancing, wearing of masks, alcohol use and other related safety measures against covid-19 pandemic.

IMT enforcers of the said have reminded all business to continue the implementation of precautionary measures in commercial establishments based on President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order 112.

"Malls and other establishments need to require people getting in to show barangay exit passes or company IDs, wear face masks, and observe physical distancing at all times," IMT executives said.

As a general rule, those 21 years old and younger, the elderly, and pregnant women are discouraged from getting inside these establishments.
The Incident Management Team also wants malls to discontinue public WiFi services and to regulate temperatures inside to 26 degrees to discourage people from staying longer inside.

The “no dine-in, take-out only” rule remains for food establishments.

Antonio Resma Jr., a team leader of the Regulatory and Compliance Board which is a member of the IMT, said violators are facing the prospects of receiving ordinance violation receipts that could mean suspension or cancellation of business permits. – with AR/CIO
